Our core objective is to create a replicable model that empowers citizens to build self-sufficient, economically robust, and spiritually fulfilling communities.

Good Morning {Contact_First_Name},

We pray that you and your families had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. It has been a delight to take some down time and enjoy what matters most.

The quick reappointment of Rep. Mike Johnson was a refreshing sight at the federal level. This shows us the importance of staying engaged with local actions to keep this conservative movement going toward the restoration of our republic.

Community Resilience, is committed to doing what it takes to bring neighborhoods together and build stronger more resilient communities to ensure prosperity for the next generation.

Our target big launch is the end of January and it will take ALL OF US to re-enact this grand experiment of a self governing republic. If YOU are interested in the next phase of Community Resilience please email info@community-resilience.org to inquire about becoming part of the team.

If you are already a member we thank you and a detail of our 2025 goals, actions and benefits will be dropping in the next few weeks as we finalize our 2025 action plans. We thank you to those who have already joined for the preservation of our neighborhoods and communities.

To unlock the full benefits of having your neighborhood connected to others, membership is required. This is the first step to building a stronger more resilient community to be able to support each other when we need it most.

January Garden Care in Northern Georgia: A Regenerative and Organic Approach to Stewardship

Part 1/2

As January settles over Northern Georgia, many gardens lay dormant, but this is far from a time for gardeners to pause. Instead, winter offers the opportunity to turn our focus inward and tend to the soil, plants, and systems that will nourish us throughout the year ahead. Our approach to garden care this month centers on stewardship—a mindset rooted in the belief that resources are not finite. While traditional sustainability emphasizes managing resources to avoid depletion, stewardship recognizes that as some resources grow scarce, humans possess the ingenuity and responsibility to regenerate and create new resources.

This regenerative mindset, grounded in care, respect, and wisdom, sees the land as an ecosystem that we actively shape, nurture, and renew. Let’s explore how we can care for our gardens this month through a regenerative, organic approach that emphasizes the role of traditional skills and human creativity in ensuring the health of the land.

1. Soil Health: Regenerating the Foundation of Your Garden

In a regenerative garden, soil isn’t a resource to be conserved—it is a resource to be continually renewed and enriched. This is the perfect time to focus on building soil health, which forms the bedrock of all regenerative practices.

  • Compost and Organic Matter: Just as nature constantly renews itself, so can we. Collect kitchen scraps, garden waste, and even fallen leaves and turn them into nutrient-rich compost. Composting is more than waste reduction; it’s a way of creating new life and reintroducing organic material back into the system. By building a rich compost pile, you are actively creating fertile soil that will sustain future crops.

  • Cover Crops: Planting winter cover crops, such as rye, clover, or oats, ensures that the soil remains covered and enriched during the cold months. These crops prevent erosion, increase organic matter, and rebuild soil health. But don’t stop there—consider how these cover crops can also help foster beneficial relationships with the plants you plan to grow in the coming season.

    • Clover: A great nitrogen-fixing plant, clover can enrich the soil for crops like tomatoes, beans, and peppers. It works well as a living mulch in between vegetable rows, preventing weeds while slowly enriching the soil for these hungry crops.

    • VetchHairy vetch is another nitrogen-fixer, and it’s a wonderful companion for cabbage, kale, and other brassicas, which benefit from a soil rich in nitrogen. By growing vetch as a cover crop, you are setting up your brassicas to thrive when you transplant them in the spring.

    • RyeRye is a fantastic cover crop for weed suppression, and when it's terminated in the spring, it provides a natural mulch that helps regulate soil temperature and moisture. It pairs well with crops like squash and cucumbers, which benefit from rich, well-drained soil with good moisture retention. Rye can also help protect the delicate seedlings of these plants early in the season.

    • Mustard: If you're growing tomatoes or eggplant in the upcoming season, consider using mustard as a cover crop. Mustard not only suppresses weeds but also serves as a natural biofumigant. Its root systems can break up compacted soil, and it helps to deter soil-borne pests that might affect your nightshades.

If you haven’t planted cover crops yet, now’s the time to plan for next season’s garden. The right combination of cover crops will not only improve your soil but also prepare it for the companion plantings you plan to grow come spring.

  • Soil Testing: Soil testing is one of the best ways to understand what your garden truly needs. By understanding the mineral content and pH levels of your soil, you can create the conditions for optimal plant growth. This is not about sustaining the soil as it is—it’s about fostering an environment where the soil continually regenerates, restoring its fertility and vitality.

2. Pruning: Cultivating Long-Term Vitality

Winter pruning is a stewardship practice that goes beyond just trimming away dead or diseased branches—it’s about guiding the health of plants and supporting their future growth.

  • Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future: As you prune, remember that each cut you make isn’t about simply removing growth, but about encouraging new, healthier growth. By selectively removing branches, you are actively shaping the plant's future, just as humans have traditionally shaped the landscape for generations.

  • Pruning for Resilience: In a regenerative garden, pruning is done with the intent to create a more resilient ecosystem. For native plants, especially those adapted to Georgia’s climate, careful pruning supports their long-term survival. As you prune, think of it as a way of ensuring that these plants are not just sustained, but continuously rejuvenated and able to thrive in the seasons to come.

3. Mulching: Creating Living Resources

Mulch is an essential tool for supporting plant health in winter. It does much more than just insulate plants; it also adds organic matter back to the soil, fostering the creation of new resources.

  • Organic Mulches: Use organic mulches such as straw, leaves, or wood chips. As these materials break down, they create new soil, returning nutrients and increasing the soil’s water-holding capacity. Mulch is a perfect example of how humans can take what might be considered waste or excess material and regenerate it into something that benefits the whole ecosystem.

  • Insulation for the Future: Mulch also helps protect plant roots from the fluctuating winter temperatures. It ensures that the roots of fruit trees and perennials can continue to develop quietly beneath the surface, preparing for the growing season to come. This practice is all about future-proofing your garden by promoting long-term resilience.

 Trump and The Fourteenth Amendment

Why hasn't Congress invoked the 14th amendment, section 3 to ban Trump from taking office?

“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”

Rise of Violence Against Churches

Now for the BIG ISSUE. Like the Bible says, Faith without works is dead.  Civic Literacy without Duty (works) is socialism.  I am asking each person to act, and after watching the security video, please share it with your Pastor and Security Team.  Then share it with your family and neighbors.  We must each be ready to protect others and our self at all times.

Can you feel that there has been a great shift in the Spirit and the mood of our nation?  The lies and the influence of the liars are falling before our eyes as the people of truth arise with a new vision and a new hope for our nation and the world.

I wrote down these words as I believe He spoke them to me as a word for you who have grown and stood in truth through this past season.

Arise and Shine

Arise and shine for your Light has come.  My Spirit of creation is once again hovering over the darkness to bring the light of truth and fresh revelation that can dispel the darkness and create new life.  Don’t be restrained by old wineskins, for My new wine is flowing bringing hope and purpose to those who seek to arise with grace and truth.  For I am cleansing My temple with a mighty rushing wind that will bring clarity and boldness to My chosen people.  This is your time to arise and shine for the Glory of Lord has risen upon you who have stood in truth.  For you are My kingdom prophets and apostles birthing new creations of My Spirit to bring forth a new order to My creation.  New manifestations and new revelations of that which I have prepared for this time and this people.   Only be very strong and courageous.  Trust in Me for I have prepared the way before you.

God speaks through His scripture and I believe He is speaking to us this season through Isaiah 60:1-5:

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

“Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
They all gather together, they come to you;
Your sons shall come from afar,
And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
Then you shall see and become radiant,
And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

Resilience Tip of the Week

Develop a Strong Network

Caring, supportive people around you act as a protective factor during times of crisis. Community resilience is the ability to prepare for anticipated hazards, adapt to changing conditions, and withstand and recover rapidly from disruptions. Disaster preparedness—which includes prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery—is crucial to resilience.  Find your network of people in your neighborhood, church, and other like-minded groups.
